Larry Histon
Why did you join the T.R.U.S.T.?
I joined this organization in order to gain a different perspective on how my lifestyle affected my family and community; to actively focus in a group setting on self-rehabilitation in order to benefit family and community; share professional knowledge to enlightend young men on the the vast number of opportunities that they may have overlooked; and professional networking opportunities.
What does being a T.R.U.S.T. Fellow mean to you?
It means setting an example of how the flawed focus of my previous lfestyle has changed to becoming an asset to family and community both inside and outside of prison.
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
Snow skiing, golf, and college and pro football, track and field, and ballroom dancing.
What programs are you involved in other than T.R.U.S.T.?
San Quentin’s North Bay School of Theology in partnership with Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary; Prison University Project; ARC; Narcotics Anonymous; and IMPACT.
What kind of work do you do with the “inside” and/or”outside”communities? Currently I am not actively participating in this way other then that which can be generalized as contributed by the T.R.U.S.T.
How do you live up to the T.R.U.S.T. value system? How do you promote the ideals of the T.R.U.S.T. outside the workshops?
My conduct outside of the workshops as a Christian enables me to keep first and foremost the remembrance of what Jesus did for my salvation. This enables me to not live a hypocritical lifestyle which would be both contrary to Christianity and the value system of the T.R.U.S.T. This keeps me motivated against doing anything that brings harm to me, my family, or community.
What do you want to do after you parole?
Reintegration into IT Management Consulting or as a captive employee provide inspiration and encouragement to ex-felons with the short term objective of establishing an IT Services Corporation.
What are your long-term goals?
Reuniting with family and establishing a segue for ex-felons to reenter society through the IT Services Corporation established for that purpose.
What is your personal message to the outside world?
Understand that positive change is possible for all men.
